RUMPLESS GAME

LARGE FOWL
Origin: Great Britain
Classification: Hard feather: Rare
Egg colour: Tinted
Picture
Bantam Rumpless Game Male
As is common with any other rumpless breeds, the parson’s nose or ‘Caudal Appendage’ (uropygium) is missing. Foreign breeds like the Barbu d’Anvers has a rumpless version called Barbu du Grubbe. The Barbu d’Uccle has the Barbu d’Everberg as its rumpless version and even in Japan, there is a Rumpless Yokohama, funny though it may sound, with its long saddle hackle making it feasible. A genetic accident with Old English Game many years ago probably created our own Rumpless Game. The breed, though popular in the bantam form is not often seen in large fowl.

General characteristics: male
Carriage: Bold and upright.
Type: Body short and small. Back steeply sloping. Breast full and prominent. Wings large and long. Tail completely absent, the whole of the lower back being covered with the saddle feather.

Legs and Feet: Legs strong and of medium length. Thighs short, round and muscular. Toes, four, long, straight and tapering.

The general characteristics are similar to those of the male, allowing for the natural sexual differences.

BANTAM

Rumpless Old English Game bantams should follow exactly the large fowl standard.
